
2008 Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink
An avid supporter of healthy living and fitness, Ajay’s charitable support is tireless; she has also recently participated in the 228km walk across the Great Wall of China with Olivia Newton-John to help raise money for a cancer wellness centre to be built in “Triathlon Pink is a great way to get your friends and family together for a fun and exciting active challenge as well as supporting a great cause,” said Ajay. “I competed in last year’s event amongst hundreds of other terrific women and the supportive, compassionate and fun atmosphere was unbelievable. It was a great day and I am now back in training to take on the course again.” Coinciding with National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Triathlon Pink is supported by Triathlon In 2007, events in Sydney and Melbourne saw 750 women cross the finish line to become exclusive ‘Pinkies’, so with the increasing interest and two more events on offer in the Gold Coast and Perth, a forecast of 2,000 women is expected to participate across Australia. “Triathlon Pink is really just a chance to promote physical and mental health, bringing together women of all ages and lifestyles,” says event organiser, T3 events director Brett James. “These days it is rare to find anyone that has not been affected by cancer so it is a great way to lend your support in the fight to cure breast cancer.” “Our events theme is challenge, participation and fun. “Challenge yourself to get out there, participate with friends and most importantly have some fun,” said James. You can enter any of the courses as an individual, completing the entire course, or as part of a team, where each competitor races one particular leg, similar to a relay format. If you are interested but a little bit nervous you can enter with friends, as a team, where you will be guaranteed to start the race together.
