CABARET SOIREE CARNIVALE THE POETRY OF LOVE: From Implicit To Explicit
FEATURING Victoria Newton
Nic Abbey - Acoustic Bass, Tom O’Halloran - Piano, Tim Jago - Guitar
Join effervescent jazz vocalist Victoria Newton on a journey that encompasses the idealistic, the jaded and the erotic sides of love, with songs that celebrate the first flush of romance, lustful encounters and momentary frissons! Originally from Perth, Victoria has delighted audiences worldwide with her unique combination of energy, spontaneity and musicianship. The Poetry of Love, first performed for the Oxford Literary Festival, explores the language of love - and lust - in all shapes and forms through blues and jazz gems of the early 20th Century to well known and loved classics from the American Songbook such as Fats Waller's Honey Suckle Rose and Cole Porter’s Love for Sale, plus a few quirky choices of a more contemporary nature stirred into the mix.
A fabulous strong, sensual voice, powerful stage presence with a great sense of time and an even greater sense of fun. London's 606 Club
Deeply into the music, a real jazz singer. Jazz UK
