Les Sept Planches de la Ruse
Fourteen performers and seven huge shapes continually transform the stage in a transfixing, wordless drama of ever changing space. Based on the Chinese game of Tangram, acrobats from the northern Chinese region of Dalian create growing mountains, dangerous sliding jigsaw pieces and hovering shapes whose meaning depends on your imagination. Unnerving, amazing and often very funny, kids and adults of all ages won't be able to look away from a fantasy full of optical illusions and suspense. Acrobats climb down, across, beneath and underneath giant blocks, combining amazing physical strength and grace. The gently paced performance is accompanied perfectly by the delicate sound of the erhu, a traditional Chinese violin, and moments of operatic song. Artistic Director Aurélien Bory and Compagnie 111's productions have toured all over the world, including Europe, North America, Asia and South America, continually demonstrating theatre's ability to surprise. For children 12+ and adults. |
