FRIDAY OCTOBER 8 – THE BAKERY, NORTHBRIDGE
TICKETS ON SALE NOW
World-renowned Ethiopian musician, arranger and composer Mulatu Astatke is coming to Perth on Friday 8 October for the first time in his celebrated career, backed by a 10-piece ensemble!  After sell-out shows as the headline act of the Melbourne Jazz Festival earlier this year, the founding father of Ethio-Jazz will play the vibraphone, congas and percussion in what can only be described as a mixture of traditional Ethiopian melodies, Afro Jazz and classic soul and funk. With a music career spanning over four decades, Astatke, now 67, continues to wow crowds and has performed at some of the world’s most influential venues, including Glastonbury.  Astatke will backed by The Black Jesus Experience, the  ensemble that blends traditional Ethiopian music with jazz, funk and hip hop. This will be the Afro Jazz show of the year!
