Perth Medieval Fayre
Perth Medieval Fayre The WA Medieval Alliance, the gateway to medieval groups and likeminded folk in Western Australia, proudly presents the 3rd Annual Medieval Fayre at the Perth Supreme Court Gardens on Saturday 5th April 2008. The Fayre is held suitably close to All Fools Day, a folk celebration that began to appear in Europe in the late Middle Ages. A plethora of Perth’s medieval clubs will be on display showing off their various talents including historical European swordsmanship, dark ages combat, renaissance fencing and swashbuckling. The fayre is rich with traditions, full of exciting and thrilling misadventures, storytellers and tales, all set in a time where chivalry, grace and courtesy were a part of everyday life. President of the WA Medieval Alliance, Steve Osborne says “Each year the fayre enjoys a healthy growth in both participation and patronage. It’s more fun than the black death, less strenuous than the crusades." Entry is affordable for one and all at only $5 and $3 for concession and for those in costume. Children under 13 are free. Mystical and upbeat music along with colourful, creative medieval characters will adorn the gardens commencing from 10am and concluding at 5pm. The Perth Medieval Fayre 2008 is proudly sponsored by the City of Perth and Healthway to promote Go For 2&5® , and is a smoke free event. |
