Actors Boot Camp is bringing together some of Perth’s finest actors, directors and theatre practitioners to ‘shape up’ the course participants, boot camp style. Participants will have two workshop sessions with each specialised practitioner, learning skills in the areas of voice, movement, Stanislavski system, script analysis, audition techniques and self-devised theatre.
Adam Mitchell, Black Swan’s Associate Director and Director of The HotBed Ensemble, will kick start the workshops with two weeks of Audition Techniques, followed bytwo weeks of intensive lessons on Self-Devised Theatrewith Thomas Papathanassiou, Best Actor (2006 WA Guild Equity Awards). Polly Low, professional actor of nearly thirty years, will lead the troops for two weeks of Voice Care and Skills. Then Andy Fraser, the only certified fight director and stage combat instructor in WA, will tackle Stage Combat and taking up the rear, Kenneth Ransom will introduce the course participants to the Stanislavski System of Script Analysis.

BSX Theatre - Thrills & Skills is a program involving an intensive series of performance workshops for people over the age of 16.Black Swan State Theatre Company’s BSX Theatre - Thrills & Skills Workshops are endorsed by Western Australia's Curriculum Council. Participation in the BSX Theatre - Thrills & Skills Workshops will earn secondary students points toward Secondary Graduation.
