Movies by Burswood is organised by a team of volunteers working year-round. Over 350 people are involved.  Everyone you see at the venue from the ticket seller, bar staff, sausage sizzle people, to the popcorn maker are all volunteers.

Screening in over 200 cities across 6 continents, FTI is the West Australian host for the 12th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. Announced this week were the ten short films finalists.
The films will not only entertain a global audience, but will be judged by them as well. Audiences at each venue will be asked to vote for the one film they think is best, with all results being sent through to Manhattan Short for counting. The winner will be announced Sunday 3 October in New York City.
The Australian film Push Bike, directed by Mairi Cameron, has been selected as a finalist: When her clothes are stolen from the pool changing room one night, Michelle must brave a nude ride home on her old bike.
