Korea has a rich + layered cultural history which spans back over 5000 years. At the heart of Korean culture lies its distinct cuisine. Korean meals not only taste different, but are also presented + consumed differently to the typical entrée-main-dessert format. The standards of the traditional Korean meal are the bowl of rice, a bowl of light soup [optional], different sauces and condiments and finally a stupendously large selection of side dishes called bunchun, the most famous of which is kimchi-chinese cabbage pickled in a fiery hot chilli sauce, is the life line of Korea, without which Koreans would be helpless. Needless to say, Koreans would sell their latest Hyundai for a dish of well pickled kimchi… perhaps even their LG Television.
