My wife Natalina and I were first introduced to opal whilst on a trip around Australia. When we passed through Lightning Ridge, New South Wales, like many before us, we fell in love with opal. Natalina and I started to invest our time into cutting opal as a hobby and discovered we had a talent and passion for the craft. Before long we were supplying wholesalers Australia wide with our cut opal. We now travel to Coober Pedy in South Australia every six weeks to visit our mining operations and gather rough opal for our workshop. Trading as Western Opals, my son Joshua and I create high grade triplets, and cut stunning solid opals from our work shop near our home in Perth, Western Australia.
